GOVERNOR BRACKHAVEN'S ADMINISTRATION ON THE DECLINE

Since the spotlight has been shined upon the behaviors, conduct, and results achieved by KNIGHT ERRANT, the Governor's administration has been thrown into severe doubt as to its longevity beyond today.

KNIGHT ERRANT of Seattle has been cited as solving active cases at a much reduced rate than LONE STAR had annually.  Since there is now enough data to make a fair comparison, we will state the statistics as fairly as possibly.

In the entirety of the UCAS in 2071, 44.3% of violent crimes, 15.8% of property crimes, and 18% of arson offenses were cleared by arrest or exceptional means.  Of the violent crimes, murder had the highest percentage of offenses cleared at 60.7%.  Of the property crimes, larceny-theft had the highest percentage of offenses cleared at 17.4%.  Of the arson offenses, juvenile arson had the highest percent of offenses cleared at 40.2%

To contrast these percentages, Seattle (and Knight Errant by extension) featured rates much lower in 2071.  25.3% of violent crimes, 3% of property crimes, and 6% of arson offenses were cleared by arrest or exceptional means.

Seattle of 2069 (under Lone Star) featured 58.3% of violent crimes, 23.2% of property crimes, and 40.0% of arson offenses cleared by arrest or exceptional means.

KNIGHT ERRANT spokesmen state that this is entirely natural after there has been an enormous turnover of public service members.  However, this is not entirely the case.  In other situations wherein LONE STAR or another law enforcement corporation has experienced a high rate of turnover or an entire jumping of ship in a localized area, clearance of criminal charges by arrest or exceptional means has actually skyrocketed, generally in response to an uptick in the number of crimes per capita.

Corruption cases going unsolved are also on the uptick since BRACKHAVEN and KNIGHT ERRANT have taken the helm, the most famous example being the representative BRUCE SPERLING of Bellevue being indicted in blackmailing his opponent during the last election into dropping out of the race.  The only reason why this made the news was due to the nature of the blackmail, his opponent apparently being depicted in a variety of sexual positions during a homosexual male orgy involving at least a thousand different individuals.  BRUCE SPERLING was found innocent of all charges against him and continues to represent Bellevue.

We will continue to keep an eye on the situation as it unfolds, but BRACKHAVEN'S administration has a lot of backtracking and political wrangling if it wants to survive another election.
