Seattle Recall Election Petition

RECALL ELECTION POSSIBILITIES ANNOUNCED

In a surprise announcement by CITIZENS OF SEATTLE FOR SEATTLE, an organization primarily based out of Bellevue and Renton, a RECALL ELECTION PETITION has begun.  Under Seattle law, any elected official may be the target of a recall campaign.  To trigger a recall election, proponents of the recall must gather a certain number of signatures from registered voters eligible to vote for that candidate within a certain time period.  The number of signatures statewide must equal 12% of the number of votes cast in the previous election for that office.

In the election of 2070 there were 3013738 eligible voters and 50.6% voted in the general election.  This means that in order for a recall election to be triggered, CITIZENS OF SEATTLE FOR SEATTLE must amass a number of signatures totalling more than 182994.  For purposes of ensuring that duplicate signatures and illegal signatures are not included, they should shoot for at least 250000 signatures.

Since the petition has been placed in public view on The Matrix, there have already been over ten thousand signatures added.  Critics of the petition have stated that this should not be taken seriously and that politics in Seattle are a bit more important than the perspectives of a few thousand 'basement dwelling Dungeons and Dragons players.'

The current owners of Dungeons and Dragons filed a complaint with said critics, decrying their demonization of players of their great, long-standing game, currently in its 32nd Edition.
